Tourmaline
is the national gemstone of the US and
one of the most fascinating of gems.
Tourmaline is found in every color having
the broadest range of any gemstone.
Even occurring with multiple colors
in the same stone,
the most popular and best know, a combination
of red and green commonly referred to
as watermelon tourmaline.
Tourmaline is found nearly world wide
with some areas producing unique colors
such as the Paraiba Brazil mines,
and the bright pink Nigerian rubilite
tourmaline both of which are now very
rare having been mined out.
